Payton McNair is an Aviation Tax Specialist who joined Houck & Christensen CPAs in 2025. Her primary areas of expertise include Sales Tax, SIFL calculations, and IRC 274 calculations.

Prior to joining the firm, Payton served as a Tax Manager and Tax Supervisor at Bennett Thrasher LLP. Her previous experience also includes roles as a Senior Tax & Business Advisor at Fisher, P.A., a State and Local Tax Analyst at Hearst Communications Inc., and a Senior Tax Associate at Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP.

Payton holds a Master of Science in Accountancy with a Tax Concentration from Wake Forest University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University.

She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in North Carolina and is a member of the AICPA, the North Carolina Association of CPAs (NCACPA), and the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA).

In her spare time, Payton enjoys reading, cheering on her favorite sports teams, and spending time with family and friends.
